Crockpot Applesauce is Boss

Sometimes I just want a simple dessert that isn’t too sweet and doesn’t take too much time. This is where crock pot applesauce comes into play. The prep time is minimal and I have the option to walk away do other things and comeback to a dessert that has completed itself!

I like my applesauce more on the tart side where as my boyfriend is a fan of the super sweet. He just sweetens his up later with a little brown sugar.

 

Ingredients:

  • 13 Macintosh Apples
  • 2 Tsp cinnamon, optional
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:

  • Peel and chop apples
  • Combine all the ingredients in slow cooker, and close the lid.
  • Cook the apples on high for 4 hours stirring at least 2 times during.
  • Add additional honey and cinnamon  to taste.
